Miniature Pinscher

Rescue

Living with a Miniature Pinscher by member Manda994

We have owned Tilly for three months now, she is 2 years old and a pleasure to own. She is more dependant than J.D, she likes to know what you're doing, where your going, how long you're going to be and more importantly can she come too?! She will always be at your heel, walking through doors before you, turning corners before you, always looking back to see where you are and how far behind you are. She is very loyal and seems to prefer women and younger men to the older man, she displays odd behaviour around older men (my dad for example - it took her nearly two months to trust my dad, he hadnt done anything to offend her, she just decided that she should bark and him at keep a distance of about 10ft)

Problems
Tilly is a fussy eater, some days she wont eat her food, other days she will eat like she hasnt eaten in weeks!
Once she has made a spot to sleep in (normally on our bed) she wont move if you ask her to, you have to physically pick her up and move her.. then she gets depressed and mopey and generally miserable - (easily solved by not letting her on the bed altogether)

Health
I have researched into the min pins and i think they can have poor knees, with a lot of dislocation. Tilly doesn't appear to have any medical problems at the moment.

Quick to train?
Tilly tries to hard bless her, when you are trying to teach her something new she automatically reels off all the other tricks she knows thinking that it is one of those that you are wanting.

Easy to Groom
Tilly will tolerate baths and the hair dryer but i cant say that there is much fur to brush! Tilly loves a good massage :)
